Highlights is an app for capturing one good moment each day, in your own words. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: it stays on your device.
Highlights does not collect any personal data. The app has no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. You don't need an account to use it.
Each day's highlight — your answer, an optional note, and an optional photo — is stored locally on your device. Highlights doesn't sync this information anywhere or send it to the developer. If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, your highlights are included in that backup like any other app data, under your own iCloud account and subject to Apple's backup encryption — the developer has no access to it either way.
If you attach a photo to a highlight, Highlights doesn't copy or upload the image — it only keeps a reference to the photo already in your Photos library, so the picture stays where it is. The app asks for permission to your photo library so it can show that photo when you revisit the highlight.
Highlights can send you an optional daily reminder to capture your highlight. This reminder is a local notification scheduled entirely on your device — nothing is sent to, or through, a server.
Highlights is free to use for your first 30 highlights. After that, an optional one-time purchase unlocks unlimited highlights. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — Highlights never receives, sees, or stores your payment information. The purchase doesn't create an account or a subscription.
Highlights does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all.
